I have an E36 M3 Evo motor and box I am going to fit, although the s62 conversion still really appeals to me.Thanks in advance, Conrad
yes conrad, i did the electrics myself.
i used the 'fly by wire' throttle.
i had the complete e39 m5 wiring loom, so i got the engine in the car, got it running,
and then using a wiring diagram off the wds disc, i started to cut off the things that i didn't need, like door electrics and lighting etc, until i got it small enough to fit behind the e30 dash.
i kept the ews, as the key, ecu and ews box are all coded together
this was the loom before i started

and this is what i cut out of it

i also used the e39 m5 instrument cluster

Thanks for that Glenn, looks easier than I thought, pretty much the same job (wiring wise) as I will have to do on the S50. Is the key remote locking/mirror antennae not part of the EWS system? Instrument cluster looks good too, I have the E36 one and was thinking of doing something similar! I know of one or two S62's floating about, might have to see if I can own one, and tuck it away for the next project.......

        Wow Glenn,

does that m5 cluster fit in there as well as it looks? or did it require some good modification?

          yes mate,
it needed a lot of cutting and joining but it fits nicely now
