Did I say it's leaking oil? Oh, I valve cover nuts got a bit loose. But otherthan that the block is nice and clean - just like I painted it.

no it wasnt either one of those, it had pictures of a couple of other motor swaps and it had a really thorough write up on the m30 swap and it claimed it was the home of the M30 swap. the menu bar was on the and the it had drop down menus from the top menu bar. Any idea what I talking about? the other swap pictures they had included the F20, SR20 DET,LS1, M5x,S5x,.

I’m assuming your using a Getrag 265… some of the e28 528e and a few 535i came with this tranny and different bell housings. It looks just like the e30 260 mount but its wide enough to straddle the 265. You have to slot the mounting holes that bolt it to the car in order to use it.

But good luck finding one. 335ist and I found one in a junk yard, ran the part number thorough BMW to get another one and got a different part. At some point in time they changed the part without changing the number.

You can also use one form an e12 528i with the 265, again if you can find one. This is a stamped steel mount that supports the transmission form the rear tab. The problem here is the rear tab will most likely be farther back then the available mounting rails on the car. I had to use this setup for a period of time and made rail extenders out of 90 degree angle iron, bolted to the car and then the mount. Not the ideal set up but it worked.

If you have the money the M3 mount is probably the easiest rout and best quality mount available. Is straddles the 265 supporting it on both sides and has 4 bolts attaching it to the car verses 2. Best of all there is no modification required it simply bolts right up. As it should considering it was designed to hold that transmission in that car.

If you’re low on cash and scrounging up parts to do the conversion try checking out the local junkyards… you might get lucky. Otherwise just try to source the M3 mount it’s really the best way to go.
