Made some progress on the machine work today. We broke down the head and reground the valves and Mic'd the crankshaft and the cylinder bores. Looks like I will be getting the crank turned and the pistons will be getting replaced with a set of slightly bigger pistons but still the b34 piston style to keep the low compression ratio. Tomorrow the head will be getting a valve job and the ports will be smoothed out to help get the air in and exhaust out! Then it will be reassembled and bagged until it is called to duty!

Back to work on the head today. We accomplished the valve job today, 5 angle radial cut. We also smoothed out all the casting imperfections in the intake and exhaust ports of the head. Tomorrow the head will be reassembled and the word "blueprinted" can be applied to the head!! I drop of the crank on Weds to have it turned and once it is done the knife edging and balancing will begin. Also on Weds the block will be preliminarily machined and the correct replacement pistons will be ordered. On to pictures.

And the smoothing (aka polishing) of the ports

Nice car. What did you paint it with and did you swap bumpers or is it a late model?

It is an '88 and came with the DB's but I swapped it with extreme prejudice! Paint is rattle can Krylon Camo paint followed up with #0000 Steel wool and soapy water.
