Haven't checked the pinouts yet, but I did find the black/gold wire which is attached to the bottom post on my starter solenoid...

Well... Not trying to be negative but hopefully you just put it in the wrong spot on the c101 :(

Checked the pinouts and everything appears to check out. Was I supposed to change some wires at the plug that I missed?

M30 loom on a facelift shell:
To get the electric windows and sunroof to work with the doors shut and for the heater blower to work at all you need to connect the black and green wire from pin 15 on the E30 C101 to a small spade connector on the starter motor.

            And (if you're interested)
To get the 'economy swingometer thingy' working you need to swap pins in the M30 loom:
Pin 3 (black and white) and pin 8 (black and purple).

Okay, on my body side c101 plug, pin 15 is blk/grn and on the m30 harness, pin 15 is brn/blk. BUT, on the m30 harness I have a blk/grn wire attached to the top post on the starter solenoid..(dont know where that goes to). What do I need to do with the pin 15 wires??

Here is a clip from frank's writeup (using different harnesses). He has highlighted in green the #15 pins and says what to do, I just dont quite follow what he is saying....

IF (on rare occasions it's there) you have a black/green wire on the M30 loom, wire it to pin 15 on that loom so your e30 chassis loom get's the correct signal. (Pin 15 on the M30 loom was originally designed to receive a signal from automatic gear selector when in P or N for being able to start the car. As your car starts, I assume you have a manual loom - thus a empty slot on pin 15).
Otherwise EITHER wire your e30 chassis side pin 15 to ground OR to a small spade connector on your starter motor.

                Word of advice:
If pin 20 on your e30 chassis side loom carries a red/yellow wire ('88 and later models); at least pull it before turning on your ignition again. Or, when feeling lucky, wire it to pin 6 (at least in europe red/yellow on pin 20 is the ABS live feed).
Studying some wiring schematics wouldn't hurt anyway.

It was the pin 15 wire not hooked up properly. I just spliced my green/blk wire and brown/blk wire in the m30 harness and it worked.

Actually, I lied. The above solution worked with the key on, but not with the car running. I just ran the brown/blk wire from pin 15 to ground and it works fine.

Battery wont charge, only reads 11V with car running...alternator checks out and battery light on dash comes on. Other possible issues?...

With a voltmeter ran from battery positive to small post on alternator it reads 10 volts (should that be more?). When ran to large post on alternator it reads 12 volts, (as it should?)
