Has anyone ever done a 7mgte swap into an e30 before. My friend recently spun a bearing in his and is not picking up a jdm motor for his supra. we were thinking how sweet it would be to put into my e30. How much custom fab would this take. and what else would i need i.e driveshaft wiring harness, intercooler the works?

What the hell is a 7mgte? This is an E30 forum, if it doesn't begin with 'S' or 'M', 98% of us have no idea what you're talking about. -
I'm guessing it came out of a Supra. More than likely... a LOT of fabbing. for everything. Count on it costing a shit ton of money.

the 7M is the engine from the MKIII supras. MKIVs have the 2Jz-1992 325i -

it's a different motor made after 1989 that was put into the MKIII Supras. It wasn't available, like most good stuff - in the US. A lot of MKIII supra guys swap them out, it's a 2.5L I6-1992 325i -

Why a 7M-GTE? I'm sorry but if you are going through all the headaches to drop an alien engine in a BMW chassis, you should pick a better engine.
7M-GTEs dont offer a hell of a lot of potential.

I could see it as being a reasonable swap due to inexpensive price of the 7M- GTE. I agree though, if you are going to deal with the hassle, you might as well get at least a 1JZ, or a 2JZ-1992 325i -

The 7M-GTE came in the MKIII turbo supras, and was available in the US. The engine that was not available in the US is the 1JZ-GTE.Comment
