    You'd probably need an entirely new forged / blueprinted / dynamic balanced bottom end to safely turn those kinds of speeds, and even then I don't think the head will flow enough to support actually making 8k rpm worth it.

      Is your 285 cam custom made to make power at 8k? and will you be running headers and aftermarket harmonic balancer? (didn't see it on the list)?

        Headers yes aftermarket harmonic Ballenger I haven't even any so no but if there is a better one out there I'd consider it. But I don't think I'll take this engine to 8k
        Float like a cadillac sting like a Bimmer!:)

            junkyard m30, head studs, gasket set, turbo. twice the power.

            In before" I like the NA response on my 3.5 liter inline 6"
