Brake Booster for S38 Throttle body on M30

I will be getting a S38 intake on my M30. Yes i know the cost and i still want to do it. I will be ordering the throttle bodies here in the next couple of months. And what i need to know is What brake booster i should run. Im asking because I will be making my own air box so i dont need spacers or anything to close my hood. There isnt much room to work with the stock booster. I will be modifying my fire wall to sit the M30 in the furthest back position. Any insight will be useful. I do not want to go Boosterless so please dont suggest that. If i could i would like to use these intakes if i have the funds for them.

Note: My set up will be with megasquirt running alpha-N

If you are making your own intake, just form it to fit around a iX/M5/735 booster. If you want even small diameter you can use a geo metro or VW polo booster but I'm not sure how the clevis lengths and design match up with the e30 brake pedal.

What is the purpose of the picture you posted? Is your m30 in a e28?

the purpose was just to show the intake i may get if i have the funds to get it. hoping someone has seen that in a car and give me some insight as to how it would work in an E30.

The booster you need will depend on whether you are making your own plenum or buying an aftermarket one designed to fit e30 applications (maxx's cf intake). Treehouse made a small booster for 24v swaps but it isn't cheap and I'm not sure its even available anymore. You'll have to remotely locate the brake fluid reservoir as well if you haven't already.

Trevor, you should take fronton advice ix/m5/735 booster. It will give you a little more room. It is a nice up grade. Hartge H35-24 swaps would notch out the m88 and s38 intakes to fit around the e30 brake booster. If you don't want use the m88 or s38 intake. Make sure you make it out of aluminum. In case you ever want to boost.

You're going to need a lot more room, so go for the smallest booster you can find. I couldn't even get the stock velocity stack on #6 cylinder on mine without hitting.

On my m88 swap I have no spacer and sits in position 3. Hartge made H35-24 oil pan for the e30. It allowed to lower motor in engine bay. My intake does not touch the hood. Stack #6 did hit e30 booster. I copied what Hartge did notch it. The next thing you are going to run into is you thermostat. Hartge built a H5sp m30 with M5 itbs and Hartge custom thermostat. Rav is doing the samething to his car. Here is a link.

                              Hello again,,

Here is the newest solution,, and maybe the best so far

This is a brakebooster from a toyota HILUX,, 4wd,, i am not sure about year etc etc ,, but will find out if needed,,

As you can see this is a S50 Euro swap,, and there is a lot less space with S50 EURO vs S38,, because of the shape of the intake manifold,,
