    Question:

I need to replace the drive by wire throttle body with a TB from a non drive by wire m30.

    Would a early model m30 TB fit? Say from a 1985-1988 m30 b34?

      Alrite.

my M30 was from a late model E34 with drive-by-wire.
simple solution would be to simply swap out the throttle body with one from a e34/e34 what have you.

I've wired up my M20 wire harness, and i'm having the hardest time sourcing a throttle body that includes the TPS switch that's a flat rectangular plug.
Everything i'm finding is a round one.

as per real oem it's part #2...but everything i'm finding is a round TPS conector...what's going on?

Automatic e34s had the round connector - manuals had the rectangular one, which looks suspiciously similar to the M20 TPS... not sure if they are interchangeable.

I lucked out with my swap - my engine was from a manual e34 - 535iS.

If you plan on going MS.....use the t-body from a auto car. The position switch is better.

Personally, I'd make the drive-by-wire work.....it'd be cool as shit.

....but if you must, hold onto that stuff. There's guys with DBW e34/32s that could use the spares.

in order to get the DBW to work, I'd need the DBW pedal switch etc etc...and I truly do not like the feel...
having cable throttle is much more pleasurable IMO and a more "connected" feel.

I'll hang onto the DBW TB and such, it looks and feels like it's worth some money, and if ever someone needed it I'd gladly unload.

Thanks for the info Luke, I cross referenced on RealOem, and it actually looks like the TPS number is actually shared between M20's and M30's across the board.

I've broadened my search horizon yay

                  Not all that much

The front part of the driveshaft was $50 used.
New csb was about 60? (I bought a good one)
Guibo was I think 25 ish?

To have it balanced was about $120 and then installed the new csb at the same time

                    Lean AWAY.

honestly garagistic shouldnt market their mounts as "IE header friendly"

They'll fit, but at the expense of some pretty fking expensive headers.

A couple of tube need some serious massaging in order to clear the mount and the head of the bolt, and the tranny tunnel needs a good sledgehammering in order to get it to fit.

                    Would I recommend?
                    Short answer, no.

Hey G-man all is good now! Thanks for looking out:-)

Ps: really loving the mounts btw. Great feel. Feel connected but not overly like solid mounts

If no to the G mounts, what mounts would you use? e30.de?

The e30.de mounts are a perfect fit providing you use the standard exhaust manifolds - if you want tubular headers though you'd need e30 / M30 specific ones, or modified e34 headers - off the shelf e34 headers don't work with them (which is meant to be the advantage of the Garagistic mounts, but wasn't Mr Burns experience here).

                                Thank you for that.

Know of any stateside retailers who sell the e30.de mounts or those identical?

When the swap happens, I would prefer using stock bits anyhow. Or will the G mounts also fit stock headers?
