Originally hoping to bring a few sets to Bimmerfest, but obviously not going to happen for that at this point.

The mounts we made are for the E23, E24, and E28 motors. Mine fit with no modification as it has a B35 head on it (88-89 635). We are going to test fit them with a B34 motor and see what mods are necessary to the firewall. Right now I have about an eighth of an inch between the firewall and motor.

I am against beating the hell out of the firewall, so, I would recommend the B35 motors. The E24 B35 motors are difficult to find, so I would look for an E34 motor... Those are the mounts we are building next.

FYI, B34 heads have a coolant passage at the back of the head (similar to M20 setup). 1/8" clearance won't cut it, massaging will be required.

      Keep it slideways!!

Thanks for the update Joe. So my best bet is an 88+ e34 535i motor? Do you think you will be able to make a few set to sell? I would be interested in getting some from you. What do you think the price would be?

        Thanks.

Why? I can't ask when motor mounts will be available to do the swap? I think that that is a perfect question in a how to swap in an m30 thread

Basically the easiest way is to obtain the pinouts on the connectors...

Yah, if you could find an E34 motor with the 5 speed already on it... you would be golden. I am not sure what the pricing is going to be on the mounts. I need to see what the production costs are. At worst I can have a set CUSTOM made for $500, so production will be a small fraction of that. I am hoping to keep them within the $250 price range, but at this point I have to do some more research.

Can someone please shine some light on what they did to wire the c101 and c104 connectors on their swap?

I think i decieded to use the 535i harness just because it looks alittle nicer and i'll keep the computer in the engine bay.

The E34 M30 5 speed is somewhat rare as only 5 percent of them came with the manual transmission.

I'm lucky enough to have 2! One that I drive, and one that is having the driveline put in the E30 convertible.

Joe, you have another customer for the M30B35 (E34) mounts when you get em done. Waiting anxiously.

PS: This is an awesome thread.

Well after looking thru all 400 pages of the ETMs for my 88 735i and 86 325e, I found exactly what every single wire does in the C101 connector and the C104.

If anyone wants a chart of this let me know :)
