All RB engines are the same physical size, just like all M20's are, regardless of the displacement.

So, if a RB20 can fit with ease, so will a RB25!!

How much power does an rb20/25/26 put out... i compare it to an M20B25 and that only has like 170hp, so where's the advantage?

RB20DET is around 200hp @ fly, RB25DE is 190hp @ fly, unsure of RB25DET and RB26DETT is rated from factory @ 276 but is a bit more than that due to Japanese OEM's agreement.

RB30ET block with an RB25DET head gives you an RB30DET which will make sooooo much power

No, only the RB26 head fits on the RB30 block, and even then, some cooling journals don't line up.

Easier to get a 2.8L stroker kit from Jun or the like.

more aftermarket, more power, 24 valves.

enough for me right there. but im running into money trouble. so looks like engine swaps are off the list for a while. :(

With the RB20DET and the likes, whats the solution for a transmission?

I am assuming these engines are from the 240sx's and the likes, so they are RWD, what would you do for a diff and rear axles?

Because the way I am picturing it, is basically, unbolt everything from the bottom of the 240, and mount it onto the frame of the E30...

these engines are from skylines and such. and you have to fab trans mounts. you use the same trans the donor car uses. then have a custom driveshaft made. you can use bmw diffs but have the shaft made to fit them. then you get to deal with the fun electrical part of it. the ecu and management software.

pretty complicated and very expensive. i looked into prices and backed out of it haha. but if you have the funds... wow, it'd be a fun car.

                          p.s. 240's come with ka24de's, ca18det's, and sr20det's

all can be swapped in as well. but the same amount of work goes into it.

Goes to show how much I know about Japanese cars. haha.

I was more curious about what you would do, no plans on doing it. Can't hurt to learn something new everyday.

oh, and I agree, it would make for a sick car, if I'm not mistaken, these engines weigh less than an M30 or S50...right? They use aluminum blocks and heads right?
