With some head work, a cam, headers, and fuel injection modifications an M30 can see 260hp+, and with a TCD Stage 1 kit running less than 10 pounds of boost, they make around 300rwp and 340rwft/lbs!!
As Spunky said, the M30 is 58lbs heavier than the M20. There are a few older threads in this section about M30 swapped cars vs M20 powered cars and handling, with a bunch of good info. Basically if you ditch your AC system and install an M30 in position II or III on Tino's mounts, you will not really upset the balance of your E30. Alpina simply used E30 M3 Air Con springs on the front of their B6 and B6S to counteract the added weight, and the road tests from back in the day claimed that they experienced only a fraction more understeer, right at the limit.
