    E30 engine swap

I am buying a 1985 E30 with the hope of putting a M57 diesel into it. Has anyone ever seen anything like this. What advice do you guys have. Also does anyone know someone that can help me import and engine, clutch, with the ECU, manifolds, turbos, cluster, dash, all other toys? What is the best way you all have found to put in mounts? I'm sure I will have many questions to come. Thanks.

    What is the M57 from?
Not many people on here have done diesel swaps since the motors are hard to get in the US.

You haven't seen the special "green" edition M5 yet? lol

The new 3 and 5 (and 6!) series diesels have a really neat engine, but I seriously doubt that you would be able to get it working in an E30. Diesel is gross anyway...

You might try posting on e30zone.net. They might know more about that motor.

M57 in M5? What if you'd familiarize yourself more to the engine code and BMW world first?

As such, the swaps have been done. Nothing special in it, all the same basics apply than to other as new engines (engine cost and electronics / EWS).
The M57 is very heavy engine, weighting about the same as V12 so be sure to reinforce your front axle..
