I have a 91' m30 from a 735i/auto. I plan on using my getrag240 from my m10 318i. I want to know if I can use the m30 flywheel and clutch with the m10 getrag240. The m30 clutch is 240mm and the m10 one is 215mm... could I put a m30 flywheel/clutch in a m10 box? Or am I stuck paying big cash on a stage3 or something....? Thanks.

The M10 tranny will not fit the M30 engine, you will need the 260. I'm selling this one...

Yes it fits, but no sense doing that. It won't last long and the ratios will be off.
Just save yourself some trouble and use correct box so you won't need to change the gearbox the next week.
And if you're complaining that you don't have money, why have you started this project anyways?- E34 M5 (x 2) -

gstuning used it in a couple of different swaps and it worked fine. The reason im doing the swap is because I got the engine for $250 and all the other stuff is going to cost me not much more than what I paid for the engine. So for around $500 I can have a m30..? Sounds good in my brain. lol. Im capable of doing all the work meself so no problem there.. I just need a few questions cleared up. Thanks for the advice. Danny.

What I made work is and work well btw.
E23 735i engine using e30.de pos3.
E30 318i gearbox
E30 320i driveshaft no mods direct fit
E30 320i gearshifting mechanism no mods direct fit
E30 3,73 LSD
E30 320i wiring loom, small harness opening to lengthen AFM wire. other wise nothing
E32 735i ECU Motronic 1.3 again.
E23 exhaust manifolds and custom exhaust from there.
SPEC Stage III clutch and pressure plate for BMW 218mm M10 size.
Stock clutch will NEVER work under full load.
Car hauled major ass, same ratios and speeds as with the M10 in there but with at least twice the power and twice the torque. Leaves WRX´s for dead very easy.
used a M10 gearbox twice for M30 swaps, one is this one.
Used by owner for fun and general driving. Has seen since built plenty of drifting and hard driving. With no damage to the gearbox.
240 box handles the torque fine. I wouldn´t use it for anything more then 300lbs torque though for long.Last edited by flawdaboi407; 06-27-2008, 07:36 AM.84' 318i m30b35 swapped!
