I just ordered the intake gaskets from Advance Auto and they can get me 5 by tomorrow and the last one in 3 days. Fuckin idiots. Sell them as a package deal. Who's gonna change just one gasket?First: 1984 318i
Second: 1987 325
Third: 1987 325is
Current: 1990 325i (Soon To Be 335i)Comment

The stock exhaust will flow fine for a 3.2. Single 2.5" ID pipe is actually more than adequate for the 3.4.
As long as you are using the correct harness and associated parts (AFM, ICV, sensors) the 059 ECU should do a great job of running a B32.'88 528e /// '88 M5 /// '89 951 /// '98 E430 /// '02 M5Comment

honestly the down side to stock is the sound....
after running open headers and now having close to stock sounding it really really isnt the same...Comment

Euroshark, thanks for the help. Informative and useful comments as always :D
Anyone know if the M10 trans from an '84 318i has an OD fifth gear? I have found several different sets of gear ratios online so far...Comment

Dunno who told you you could use your early M20B27 harness with an M30B34, but you can't. They don't have the same type of idle control system. You can probably use it with an M30B32 as they have the same type of Motronic. If you had an E30 Super eta (1988 ) you might be able to use your harness with an M30B35 from an E32/34 as they have the same type of Motronic (you may have to lengthen a few wires.)-P

and about it being quiet, its fine thats not the issue. Its going from the amazing sound of that motor be loud, to not being able to hear it at all... i drove it for 3 months with just about no exhaust its sounded so meanComment

M30B34 uses a 3 wire idle control valve. M20B27 (exc 88 super eta) uses green box with 2 wire idle control valve. Both do use the bell housing sensors, but the geen box changes everything. Sorry, but you have to do some wiring. It is not that big a deal, though.-P

Do you know where I can locate an E28 ETM? I'm going to be using my ETA Motronic 1.0 harness with an 059 ECU, might as well check the wiring I'll need to do.Comment

The M30B34 (and B35) ICV wires directly to the computer. The M20B27 (and M30B32) goes through the green box, and IIRC, some other signals go through there too, so it will be much splicing and screwing around to get it to work. PM me your email addy. I'll see what I can do about the ETM.-P

So does the early M30 ICV wire directly into the ECU? Wiring is not something I'm averse to, and this is betting than getting caught by surprise.

bump because I'm on the hunt again.
Going to look at a 633CSi tomorrow, has a low-miles M30B32 with L-Jetronic management (I think).
Questions:
Does the 633 come with a getrag 260/5 or a getrag 265?
Does it have bellhousing sensors?
Does it have a 3.46LSD? It has some sort of LSD, but I'm not sure if it's 3.25 or 3.46.
Looks like I'll need both an E24 and an E28 ETM.Comment
