    Intro and my swap

Hello guys. Well it's official, my swap has started. I had a rather nice e28 but unfortunately one night when I was out driving a tree jumped out right into the middle of the road and hit my rear drivers side door. Messed up the lower sill, door, roof line is tweaked. It was really a shame since the car had right around 70,000 original miles. But when life gives you lemons makes M30/E30 lemon-aid. I found a super clean (rust wise) grey market e30 down in Columbus, OH and brought it home on the cheap. Perfect candidate for a track car. A horrible interior, decent body, and no rust. The chassis is a '91 318i sedan. The story goes that the previous owner busted the oil pan and the car has been sitting since (I believe it, the oil pan is still in the trunk cracked to pieces). But yeah, that's the deal. I have a bent e28 and a straight e30 so the e28's heart will live on inside the e30! Now some photos:

    Before the accident:

How it sits now (makes me sad just to look at it):

It's kind of hard to tell from the picture but the whole roof line is tweaked, it sucks.

    But here's the new project:

    The checksheet ... check?

I thought I took a picture of the roof but I guess it didn't feel like saving that one. There is no sunroof. Which I think is fairly rare (unless I'm mistaken). But yeah, that's my story. I know a fair amount about M30 just from the few years I have owned my e28 and I'm looking forward to joining the ranks of M30 swapped cars. But until then:

Some extremely minor surface in 2 spots. Other than that absolutely none. The guy said it was garage kept and I believe that too. We put it up on a lift before I bought it and it looks great underneath.
