What should I do to my m42

I have 5-6 hundred dollars to spend for my engine/suspension, I am totally stock right now. Any Ideas? I was kind of thinking a set of coilovers and maybe a MarkD chip, but was wondering what would be worth while.

im gonna have to agree your car will be all over the place if you dont do your suspension first learn how to control your car before you make it to fast

An m42 with a chip will hardly be fast! Lol. Plus it would cost more than his budget for those parts anyway

I was leaning more towards suspension as well.

500-600 is a start for suspension, id replace shocks and look for a set of used H&R sports or races. Do control arms/CAB to make the car safe to drive

First thing i did to my M42 was clean up the "Mess under the intake" to fix the idle issues

+1 on this one. your budget isnt really gonna allow the the turner motorsport package of billy sports and h&r race so i also agree with getting used springs.
                    good luck with the build.

Maintenance first, then Billy shocks HD or Sport your call, Sports will need a lowering spring. Ebay chip for the budget minded or Mark D if you find some extra cash. E36 steering rack would be next on my list.
