32 is a good mpg for those speeds
Change your diff and tranny fluid too.Leave a comment:

Never changed it. I bought the car two month ago and I havn't got a chance to change it. When changing it what should I look for. Also should I just drop it and take a look inside?Leave a comment:

No. I don't believe in cone filters. I've never read anything that supports them.Originally posted by keada714Do you guys think a cone intake would change my mileage that much?
If the cone filter did make a big difference - then I suspect your OE filter was due for replacement.
When was the last time you changed the diff fluid?Leave a comment:

Hey man,
I also tried to do this after driving 70 miles and I thought it was pretty hot.. Can anyone give me any other way to see if i have a bad diff? Something in the rear hums when I drive.Leave a comment:

GOOD NEWS, COULD IT REALLY BE!?!?! Today I had to take a friend to lax since she is flying to vegas for EDC! I thought this would be a good opportunity to see if the cone intake had any affect with the mileage. I was amazed to find out that I nearly got 32mpg. This is mostly freeway driving at 65-70 mph..
I used google map to calculate how far my trip was since my odometer no longer works. I really hope google is correct and i'm not getting any wrong readings. Do you guys think a cone intake would change my mileage that much? I guess I'll try again to see if i'm actually getting that kind of mileage.Leave a comment:

I am defeated.. The afm that I bought gave me a 1222 code... So i'm guessing my original afm is still good. I'm still getting bad mileage. I'm going to replace all the gasket in the intake side to ensure that I'm not getting any vacuum leak.Leave a comment:

drive your car then go back and stick your hand on the diff. see if its abnormally hot. If so you might want to look in to getting another.Leave a comment:

Here is the picture of the plugs. They seem alright to me. From cylinder 1,2,3,4

My diff was humming and when I replaced it it close to doubled my mpg! (15-20 to 30-35 even 40)Leave a comment:

still waiting for funds for the ford injectors.. my temp gauge sits around the middle and goes right over the middle from time to time. I doubt its my driving habits. I've done a calculation for freeway driving as well. I got 22 miles to the gallon doing 65mph.. Car isn't throwing any codes. My rear end has a slight hum. Do you guys think its a friction factor that is getting me these low miles per gallon?Leave a comment:

I don't feel like I'm running lean and my car smells fine/runs great. I'd say when I'm being careful I can attain these numbers: 40mpg highway, 20mpg traffic, 30mpg city and I average about 35-40 since I never find myself in traffic. An army helicopter pilot can't have bad math if you know what I mean... Plus it's a simple gig: Fill up to full, run it 100 clics, gas again. Check how many liters go in and your (working) odo and you got L/100k. mine is usually 8 when I drive like a normal person. Convert that to mpg it gives to about 30mpg.
45 is hard and boring to get, but its possible.Leave a comment:

So you've replaced the O2 sensor.
What about the injectors?
How's your temp gauge look?
The M42 was rated 19mpg city by the EPA btw.Leave a comment:
