I'd mount it on the radiator. I don't think the shroud is doing much with that much gap around it. Still cools well at idle with hot ambient temps and AC blasting?

ive tried figuring out ideas to mount it to the raditor but have come short on how to do it...this set up cools the shit out of the radiator ac is hella cold....i still have my aux mounted on and both of these together would provide more than needed cooling on the hottest of days regardless if your in idle/ac blasting dont matter.

you can feel the airflow if you open the hood

bmwm42 - I don't know what cobbled-up piece of whatever you got there but here are 2 ebay ads of the late E36 318 electric puller fans (I'd stay away from the aftermarket Chinese crap and stick with the used OEM stuff). A lot of people think they're aux fans but they're not. Also attached is a pic of one I put in my E30 318is. It slides into the same mount points on the radiator as the OEM shroud does.

hey genius i know the m44 slides right in but they are hard to find around these parts and the 125 bucks to me just isnt worth it my fan if you can tell is the oem stock aux fan mounted to the shroud its ghetto yes but does a dam good job at keeping shit cool

                When you said

I figured you were unaware that the M44 fan would fit the same as the stock unit. I would just be worried about one of your zipties breaking and allowing the spinning fan to come into contact with the radiator and tearing a whole in it. Just trying to help.

I got mine for around $80 from a dude on Bimmerforums. Just keep checking there (and any other E36 sites you know of). Good luck.

You have to use the e36 switch for lower temp

Just got my Spal 16" Puller. I'll be hooking it up to my a/c switch for manual control for the time being. I think I paid about $75 from Bimmerworld.
