It was SUPER easy to wire it up with a relay into the aux fan radiator switch.

Did they hook you up with a new one or what? Or all their fans crap and you think it's gonna happen again?

Yeah I have a brand new one in-box. PM me if you want it. I sold my M42 car.

They were VERY surprised that it failed and shipped me a brand new one.

I ended up buying one yesterday so I have to pass on that offer but hopefully the one I get doesn't cause any issues.

Wouldn't happen to have a spare SI board laying around though would you? Lol

I'm running a volvo fan, with the volvo fan shroud cut down to fit the radiator. Flows a ton of air, really quiet, and I got it for $20 at the jy. They are all over the place here. Unfortunately I don't have any good pics on the computer at the moment.

I just bought one of these from ebay. Any further tips on how you wired it up? I'm new at electrical work.

Get yourself a relay and wire it into power and ground. Then you'll need to ground the fan to it as well. Then run the fan positive to it and tap it into the low speed lead on your radiator fan switch.

Thanks for the reply, Ken. I'm afraid it's still over my head, though. I have ZERO experience or knowledge of car wiring. Can anybody recommend a book or website for some quick basic knowledge?

EDIT: Here's a thread from R3v about wiring the electric fan: click

I'd still be interested in resoruces for learning more basics of car wiring/electrical

                      .

this might seem like an off topic question..

but did you notice any difference in power in the little m42, after going to the electric fan set up?
I would assume getting rid of the fan clutch set up, would unleash some power. Well, a very minimal amount, but none the less some??
                      thanks in advanced

                        You won't notice anything.
