figured out why temp gauge wasnt working. switched wiring with oil pressure and temp sensor.

found a leak though. dont really know what this is.... this hole is right above the drive shaft.

My guess is you have a leak in the cooling system that is under the drivers side near the fire wall.

      Here's one possibility: http://www.m42club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14116

Edit: Pulled from Simon E30's thread in this forum section: "The other is/was a recall installation of a pressure relief valve between the 2 in/out hoses for the heater core before they enter the firewall." - I'd track that down as it seems that it might be the culprit.

Here's what Simon is talking about ... I dunno if you can plug that hole and call it a day ... that leak could eventually put hot coolant on your legs while you are driving; if it is the part #7 - water valve p/n: 64111386706. It could also be a leaky heater core, which would also suck.

Personally I'd check into that ... but each to their own.

There isn't supposed to be any coolant leaking over the Guibo by design.

I dunno. I think it is simply a drain hole. I'll climb under mine and look soon.

No, there is no hose that hooks up there. What you most likely have is coolant leaking down the firewall behind the heater vents in the center dash. It has just found a way out. Quick way to check would be to pull the shift boot and/or ashtray and see if it is wet.

You should not have fluid exiting the car's body above the flex disc.

Check Simon S's thread ... I mean that guy did it all and did it right. Other than that check the interior forum.

take a picture and point to it ... My recommendation stands, you need to find out where that coolant is coming from as it should not be exiting your car above the flex disc.
