Which gains you 1 lb/ft of torque? I've read about this mod and find it funny, no offense. There are stock single row engines that have expensive 'upgrades' to two row chains and gears for strength and longevity. A couple examples I know of would be the w126 Mercedes 3.8l V8 and the Toyota 22r/e.

i've done a lot of things to reduce rotational mass as well as weight in and outside of the engine and car, that's my focus for the build. i have no problem changing the chain every 50k as opposed to 100k, or whatever the recommended interval is.

metric mechanic has been doing this on high HP engines for many years with no failures (according to their website). and people were doing this on M10s decades ago on engines that saw way more HP than i'll ever have, so i'm not worried about a failure.

oh yea that and a turbo becauseracecar.

I think I might win with the most pointy sprockets. These are my old sprockets before I replaced mine.

This thread has inspired me to replace my tensioner this month along with the belts. Engine has over 200k and a limited maintenance history.

Mine has 230k and I know DICK about the maintenance record of this car. I should probably check that.

the single row chain swap is a complete joke.

anyway, a complete timing set is under 600 with crank and cam gears from pelican. much better than having a ticking time bomb
