I got rid of the a/c when I did all the timing components. It's a convertible so I figured what the hell.

What sort of benefits would the lightened flywheel give me besides the obvious weight benefit?
    Faster revs and quicker deaccel.

Would make the car feel more alive. I am looking to do it.

Seems the only way to get the benefit and actually shave some weight would be an aftermarket flywheel

So I found the easy way for me. They have a thread in this forum. here, dynotech motorsports

      emailed

      complete kit ran me $535

12 lb lightened M20 flywheel (with M42 starter ring gear)
      325 clutch kit
      shorter flywheel bolts
      longer slave cylinder push rod

They have the all in one solution and cost wasn't bad in my book.

          Hi,

While I was driving, my clutch pedal had no pressure/resistance at all and so I couldn't shift the gear. When I depressed the clutch pedal, it dropped with no resistance to the floor. Went to mechanic and he said it was the master and slave cylinders needed to be replaced. He replaced them, but problem persisted and he then also replaced the clutch plate. I got the car back and drove for 6 days, but suddenly, while driving on a street, I couldn't switch the gear and so I had the car towed away back to my mechanic and this time he said it was some wire/cable connected to the clutch that broke. What are your thought guys? I don't want to be fooled around my a mechanic.
From the beginning, perhaps the only problem was only a broken wire/cable connected to the clutch pedal.

there isn't any cable/wire - the clutch uses hydraulics. The clutch pedal is hooked up to the clutch master cylinder. If one of your clutch lines failed I'd be pretty pissed because the tech should have inspected them while replacing your slave and master cylinder.

Wow that's a great deal. I just wish I had the funds right now. I guess having a project car while youre a broke college student isn't the best idea. I think I'm just too addicted to these cars haha. I have another dual mass that's in really good condition that I'm gonna put back in.

Thanks for the good info. I bookmarked that site for future use

Agreed. That seems to me like a pretty big mistake
