    Better grounds?

I just recently had some charging issues, got it all sorted out but now I'm getting some minor feedback, enough to annoy me if I have my radio kind of quiet.

Are there any places for adding better grounds? Or any ways to make existing ones better?

I tried to do a search and got no where...any help would be appreciated! Thanks,

Yea, a little bit of whining but even if the radio is off. My S13 did the same thing after I did my SR swap. Forum search said the grounds on them were weak to begin with. I bought a roll of 0ga wire and made my own ground straps, but they went in certain spots. Got rid of the feedback and the lights and cluster would stop dimming when at idle.

Just curious if this was something anyone did with M42's and if so...what's a good place to add them.

Just do the same as you did to your s13. Upgrade the factory ground locations to 0gauge wire. I noticed there is a ground on the alternator bracket that will cause some whine if its old and frail. I replaced mine and the noise went away.

I'll take a look at that one...those wires looked kinda old. The ground was a pain in the ass to move it was so stiff.

Feedback is what happens when you stick a microphone into a speaker and add gain.

Noise is often caused by a poor ground in an audio system.

I'm guessing you have noise. And the grounds don't need to be welding cable.

I haven't messed with the audio system in the car. Its been the same for the last two years. After replacing the alternator last week, it started making "noise".

I checked the existing grounds and they all look good.

Many (most?) alternators have a cap or 2 to try to get the alternator 'whine' noise down-
                maybe the reman one didn't?
