M42 with this Turbo?

Hey guys im planning a budget Turbo build for my Winter E30 318IS! ~0,8 Bar

A friend of me got this turbo i can buy very cheap...

Is it too big?

Depends.

It's small (a/r ratio for both sides) for a t3/t4 hybrid, and that, from
very old memory, seems OK for midrange boost.

If you look up the pressure maps, and figure/find the flow numbers for a 4- valve 1.8l.
then chart where the pressure/volume lines go,
that will tell you for sure.

I just remember that, doing that for a 2l 2 valve, a .80 a/r on both sides started to
build boost at about 2500, and didn't become unstable until 8k. And also didn't
build more than about 12 psi until 4k or so, which seemed appropriate for an old Volvo
pushrod engine...
