    SSSquid chip for M42?

    Hey guys,

So I haven't really splurged on the car since I got everything pretty much sorted out in terms of reliability the past few months. Been looking around chips and I've read a lot about MarkD chips but can't seem to find any info on SSSquid chips for the M42? Anyone here have any experience or do I gotta bite the bullet and toftt?:D

I have one of his chips. I had him tune it for 7200rpm and 21# injectors. Seems to make a difference but nothing to jump for joy over. I had a dinan chip in there before and it definitely was an improvement though. Never had a mark d but for the price it seemed to be worth it.

I've got one and I really dig it. I met Jesse (Mr Squid) back in Orlando when I lived there and he's a pretty stand up guy. I say go for it!

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

I have a SSSquid Chip in my 318is. It is a great product. A chip's benefit, in my opinion, though yes it provides a couple more horsepower, exists in sort of smoothing/rounding everything out. I appreciate the higher rev limit too-- the couple hundred extra RPM is fun especially since the M42 appreciates a good romp.

The M42, more than any other modern fuel injected engine I've had experience with, is sort of sensitive to changes in air temperature and humidity. I find the chip mitigates some/most of that, too.

All around I think it's worth the $169. It is a great tune.

Jesse seemed like a really nice guy, too.

Good to hear. Will look into this and have to verify the car does not have a chip already.

Buy it, totally worth it. I have no bias whatsoever.
