    M42 Rod Knock

I finally sprung for a timing tool for the m42. I got the engine timed and finally it would idle on its own. But the worst that could have happened came and screwed me. I have a rod knock, no hole in the block, but I don't have the money to rebuild the engine. I can get a full m20 with all the accessories for $250. Anyone selling a getrag 260 trans and driveshaft? Thanks

It's a long story but essentially when I pulled the engine one of the connecting rod bearing caps was loose. I torqued it up but I don't think it clamped together correctly.i had a bad feeling

Bummer. It would have been cheap to throw new shells in there when you found it was loose....

I'm working on it. I will be posting the time-lapse of the engine being pulled again tomorrow.
