    E36 M42 Motor mounts on E30?

Im thinking these mounts are identical, but has anyone used the e36 m42 motor mounts on the E30? Do they go right in? I'll be creating custom perches for my e21 so I know at least I'll make it work for the subframe.

Negative, check out a thread I did in this section on cutting a mount open as a comparison.

Ah-ha. I see it is the locating bump that throws a wrench in it.

FCP Euro has parts on clearance. Found OEM mounts for $60. E36 we're only $45 but $60 isn't bad for oem!

$60 is a good deal, lower than it has been for years.

I ground the nub off. They running smooth for two years now. Came with my M44.

I say "Where's your other camshaft?"

You can cut off part of the mount to make it fit. I had a poly mount disintegrate on me on a BMW vintage show and had a shop make a go out of it using a e36 mount since that is all he had..
