Can the m42 handle race gas or like 101 octane gas? I was just wanting to put some in to see if it will clean some crap out of the motor and see if it runs a bit better. TIA.

To the OP, if you do decide to get some race fuel, disconnect your battery for like 15 or 20 minutes and then reconnect. My buddy and I always do this and then let the car idle for at least 30 minutes so that the computer can re learn everything. Oh and BTW, my friend and I have run 115 octane and the cars were a blast to drive, you just have to give them some time. And no the higher octane wont hurt your motor, just make sure its unleaded and not leaded and you'll be fine. And youre right, it will clean out a lot of the shit built up in thereComment

So I went to fill up with the 110 octane gas, and I see that's it's leaded, who the hell still uses leaded gas? So I guess no race gas for my m42.1990 S50 goodness.Comment

I never asked if I could buy "faster" gas, I wanted to put higher octane gas in my car in an attempt to clean some of the carbon buildup and try to help it run a bit better. My plan was to put half a tank of 101 octane, then half a tank of 93, quit bein an ass to me for bein a new guy on the board and asking a legitimate question.1990 S50 goodness.Comment
