Anybody have a 4.10 in a 325i? Bad idea for daily?
Sorry for reviving this thread. I am on the verge of buying a 4.10LSD for my 3.73LSD. I just wanted to know for spiritual driving will it be better than a 3.73? My car rarely sees the highway...3-4times a month..
So with that in mind I just want better acceleration and I read many people saying that this is "the best" mod that can be done to bring the m20 to life. I dont mind short gears.
I will keep my 3.73 incase I dont like it. I just want to know if it will be worth the price+installation.
This, M20 + MarkD chip + 4.10 was a fun little car to drive around.
Ya, I already have a Turner chip. So I think its going to be good.
Im not really conserned about gas milage because frankly after 120km the aerodynamics will have a much more affect.
Its rare I go over 120-130km so I think it should be good. Although I am concerned for tracking events if it might play against me with a lower top speed.

Gianni
your top speed won't really be lower, you will still be aerodynamically limited.
Go with the 4.10. I don't know where these other folks come off saying it's too "extreme" for daily driver status. Cruising at 75mph turns the motor at roughly 4k rpm. So that isn't the greatest situation for mpg enthusiasts, but it probably isn't hurting the mileage much either. What's a 1-3 decrease in mileage with a car that you aren't making payments on? The increase in performance outweighs the extra change you'd be forking over for gas, which probably isn't a substantial amount.

Perfect. Aslong as the pros over power the cons. Trust me I really do not do that much highway so I am not to concerned for that. And when I am I try and follow the speed limit. 120km is probably the max.
