After today's purchase for my flywheel bolts, I'm clocking in at $550 for a full swap plus upgrades. However, I was lucky enough to get half the stuff I needed for free from my main supplier, bless his heart :) (pedal box, master/slave, shift linkage/rod, and clutch fork). The tranny I spent a good $160 on, $50 for the driveshaft, $60 for the hydraulic hard clutch line, $50 for new Guibo, Pilot bearing, and CSB, $60 for a used clutch kit with only 5k miles, $20 for the flywheel, $40 for the bolts, and $110 for a short shift kit and bushing rebuild. Your thinking of spending a good ~$600-$700 if your on a strict budget and only buy neccessities.

It's definitely doable on a budget; I bought all the main components used, (don't go spending $200+ on just a new flywheel, there are plenty of good used ones), but the maintainence stuff like rubber seals/hydraulic hoses, guibo, and CSB and junk, buy new.
