    Question regarding 24v swap/shifter rods

I have a 1991 318is body, with no engine/trans. I'll be purchasing a S52 with the ZF320, and my question is what shift rod/holder/carrier do I need? Should I try to source one for an E30, if so which one? Should I just get everything E36 related? I literally have nothing and I'm having a hard time finding this info.

    Thanks

I've used the S52 stuff in its entirety, except the rear console mounting bushing, which I used an E30 unit. I used a E36 shift console, selector rod, and console spring clip.

Did you use OEM E36 stuff, or have you upgraded any portion of the shifting system? You're saying just use all E36, save for the rear console mounting bushing?

Yes, I just used OEM E36 stuff, though I bought a new nylon shift cup, selector rod bearing (that attaches to the transmission), and shift lever.

I used the zf rod/shifter on a Getrag 260 behind a m50 (long story), so I am guessing that the e30 shifter should work the other way 'round.
