I will double check exactly which z3 I have tired three time to install but it keeps hitting on the top of my tranny, or t-case, any ideas on how to solve, if I need another one then this one is up for sale>

Oh and yes I bent the shift selector both ways.

              *update*
The clip connecting the selector rod and the lever popped off a few weeks ago. TODAY at work, the one on the other end of the rod came off. I'm trapped at work. YAY.

The extra effort and having to jam the Z4 3.0 into gears put extra stress on the clips I think.

After reading this thread, my options are:

                  Z3 1.9
Pros: Easy installation, no bending required, tall lever, lowest effort.
Cons: I've heard there isn't a significant reduction in throw. Not a SS.

                  Z3 2.8
Pros: Short throw, medium effort, tall lever.
Cons: May interfere with drive shaft and/or harmonic balancer. May need to be bent. May sit at 1 o'clock

                  Z4 3.0
                  Pros: Short throw, medium effort.
Cons: May interfere with drive shaft and/or harmonic balancer. May need to be bent. May sit at 1 o'clock

I think a taller lever is good for HPDE's cause you don't have to reach far from the wheel. I'm leaning toward the Z3 2.8.

One more thing, the length of the shaft below the 'ball' - the longer the shaft, the shorter the throw, correct?

                  TIA,
                  Mark

correct, and it also help to ease the effort for changing gears (this also depends on the length of the upper section of the shaft)
                    So what did u install?

                      I went with the Z3 2.8. It's a little notchy, but good.

I love mine. had one in my E46 as well. Sure, a bit notchy, but the payoff is a very precise shift everytime :p Also recommend the DSSR from UUC and a weighted ///M knob!

Would you consider selling your UUC SSK if you don't plan on installing it? I have a friend who may be interested.
