Specs
1988 325is m50 swap
535i motor mount
drivers side MIGHT seem to be a little more cranked than the other but that also may be myself driving myself insane
"white325is" getrag 260 tranny brace with the proper amount of degrees needed for a swap
new CSB
new guibo(now shredded)
u joints the seem to be fine
180k on the car
100 on motor
So a few months ago I noticed the thumping sound after investigation I found that the previous owner (HACK) didnt make the correct adjustments to the tranny brace by trying to put in odd weird mounts to try and compensate for the angle difference of the m50 swap with the getrag 260. So I luckily got one of the infamous "white325is" custom tranny braces from r3vlimited, put the in with stock tranny mounts fits nice and did a guibo and CSB for good measure. Everything was fine until like a week later when up in the revs the thumping sound came back and then got progressively worse move throughout the revs and becoming very bad. Driving done the highway a couple days ago the guibo lets go a huge chuck after jacking it up I could see the rope pieces of the guibo. I have no clue whats going on here I was thinking possibly a cheap guibo i think i payed 36ish bucks for it from a foreign auto parts store, I was asked if i wanted the good, better, best and this was the better. Should I invest in a Revshift Guibo or is there something that I am over looking. Thanks in advance.
Also forgot I took off my vibration dampener off of the front of the driveshaft I have read many places that I did not need this and there was also a large chuck of it missing from one of the bolts "chattering" around so I knew it was not perfectly balanced anymore so I made the decision to chuck it.
