    Whats eating my guibo?

    Specs
    1988 325is m50 swap
    535i motor mount
drivers side MIGHT seem to be a little more cranked than the other but that also may be myself driving myself insane
"white325is" getrag 260 tranny brace with the proper amount of degrees needed for a swap
    new CSB
    new guibo(now shredded)
u joints the seem to be fine
    180k on the car
    100 on motor

So a few months ago I noticed the thumping sound after investigation I found that the previous owner (HACK) didnt make the correct adjustments to the tranny brace by trying to put in odd weird mounts to try and compensate for the angle difference of the m50 swap with the getrag 260. So I luckily got one of the infamous "white325is" custom tranny braces from r3vlimited, put the in with stock tranny mounts fits nice and did a guibo and CSB for good measure. Everything was fine until like a week later when up in the revs the thumping sound came back and then got progressively worse move throughout the revs and becoming very bad. Driving done the highway a couple days ago the guibo lets go a huge chuck after jacking it up I could see the rope pieces of the guibo. I have no clue whats going on here I was thinking possibly a cheap guibo i think i payed 36ish bucks for it from a foreign auto parts store, I was asked if i wanted the good, better, best and this was the better. Should I invest in a Revshift Guibo or is there something that I am over looking. Thanks in advance.

Also forgot I took off my vibration dampener off of the front of the driveshaft I have read many places that I did not need this and there was also a large chuck of it missing from one of the bolts "chattering" around so I knew it was not perfectly balanced anymore so I made the decision to chuck it.

The first guibo failure could be from the misaligned transmission. But the second failure so soon after replacement is probably from binding u-joints in the drive shaft. Time for a new or rebuilt drive shaft.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Just curious, what brand guibo did you put in? I've seen guibos fail from being "too Chinese". If you ran a cheap one, try an OEM Febi.

they will also fail if you install them backwards. Arrows must point towards the flanges.

above two posts are most likely causes of failure (shitty guibo or bad installation)

Normally a bad u-joint manifests itself in a fucked up center support before it destroys a guibo

something abnormal is killing your few month new guibo.

            driveshaft+center bearing+non german guibo?

I have killed many a guibo but not from new to dead in a few months :)

Bad U joints have super amounts of play in the driveline, do you notice a lot of clicking when you rotate the driveshaft when the car is in air or when you are driving on/off cthrottle @ low speed?
