    Help! My drive shaft shrank!

    This totally killed my buzz after getting my rebuilt engine running tonight. The drive shaft is about 3/4s of an inch short of the transmission, I can't even get the bolt far enough through the guibo to try to pull it forward mechanically.

    How did this happen? How do I fix it?

    And no, I didn't install the suspension subframe backwards, I nearly died of a panic attack when that possibility ran through my brain.

    there's an adjustment collar further down the shaft, with a collar nut, loosen the collar nut and stretch the driveshaft as far forward as possible. Also make sure your differential isn't moving around, now...

        pretty sure they make a little blue pill for this







        Like the others have said, there is an expansion joint in the trans, extend it, and you are fine....

          Found out after about an hour of struggling last night that it telescopes out, it just refused to extend while it was lined up with the trans. Thanks guys!
