    Help with replacing 260gtrag seals

My trans is leaking from the seal where the driveshalf/guibo connects to. Can anyone help with a descriptive instruction for an average diy newbie.

    -thanks in advance

It is probably also leaking from the selector shaft seal.

To pull the selector shaft seal a small hook type puller works best. To install the new seal a deep socket of the right diameter works well as a driver. The output flange nut was installed with thread locker. Heat the flange to 300-350F to break down the thread locker and use a thinwall six point socket on nut. Pull the seal and use a driver to seat the new seal. Reinstall the nut using blue Locktite.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Can both be done without dropping the transmission?

Thanks for the response, so for the output seal, there is just one bolt to remove?

            Correct just the one nut.

              update:

I replaced the input seal, removed the 6bolts pulled out the seal and in went the new, was pretty easy. So on to the selector rod seal, pita! took me forever to get the seal out, i used a 15mm deep socket to help push the new seal in.

As for the output seal, still looking for a 30mm thin wall socket =(

Maybe buy a cheep socket and grind or have it ground down to fit

I found a deep thinwall socket at Advance in their special tools area.
