I need to change 5-spd manual transmission fluid. In owner's manual says to use NON-HYPOID fluid. I went to local part store and could not find NON-HYPOID. I know may of you are using redline. But what are other choices?

GL4 is what you are after in the gear oil line. GL5, with the exception of a few nonstandard oils (i.e. Redline) will eat the synchros.
But you should look at the side of the transmission and figure out whether or not it wants ATF, MTF (75w80), or 75w90. There will be a sticker there.2006 GMC Sierra 2500HD 4WD LBZ/Allison

In the absence of stickers, GL4's a good guess.
Unless red ATF came out, then you know what to do!
But I really can't find ANY reason in the world not to use MTL from Redline.
It just works.
tnow, sometimes I just mess with people. It's more entertaining that way. george gravesComment
