Drive shaft taken apart without being marked

I finally got a drive shaft I have been looking for for awhile now from a gentleman off here but when I went to grab it he had already took it apart with out marking it. Any way I can tell whitch way it went?
I'm really stressed that I just paid a chuck of change for scrap metal

Mine came apart I've thrown it together and it's been drifted on ever since being beat to crap behind 300+ hp with no issues or vibrations.

U joints line up so there really is only two ways it could have been assembled, although on a bmw shaft it doesn't make that much difference since only the rear joint sees an angle and it is very slight.

You could always get it balanced if it proves to be an issue. You have a great driveline shop that does 2 piece driveshafts local, Driveline Service of Portland.

In my experience there are what look like factory paint dots on each side of the slip joint. They are yellow or white and about 5 mm diameter.

The yokes need to mirror each other. If you look at a pic of an assembled one you will see what I mean. This is because the drive shaft actually speeds up and slows down as it spins. Spicer had a really cool video of this floating around. It also showed why joint angles needed to be the same for smooth operation

Clean it ; there should be a white dot on each side for alignment if its an original BMW untouched driveshaft.

This, I just removed one today. Maybe yours wore off a bit OP? Has to still be marked a little unless the seller took it off with paint thinner or something
