    Transmission oil?

Ok so I was planning on changing the oil in my transmission and having done a bit of research i went with general concensus and bought 2 quarts of redline mtl. Now i just got around and change the oil today and drained it to realize i have atf in it. Now i looked around for any label that said it is a atf only tranny bud didnt find anything. Should i go ahead and fill it up with redline mtl or go buy some atf? Thanks

    You're fine with the MTL.

Well, redline is more-or-less top of the line(someone correct me if I'm totally wrong). I use it on my e30m3 tranny (g265) - just cause I know how much a replacement costs. If I had a stock e30 tranny - even turbo'ed car, I'd consider how little a used tranny costs compared to the cost of redline each year. My 2 cents.

Top of the line or not...it's a few extra dollars and I'm sure even you doesn't want to go out changing a trans...no matter if it cost $50 or $1000 for a new/used trans.

I can tell you it was night and day difference for me when I put in Redline.

I went with the Redline MT-90 - my tranny had the green sticker. The oil has been in almost 2 years, and has been just fine.

Used diesel engine oil with a mix of varsol to thin it. works like a charm!

You won't have problems with Redline in the cold. ;)

We keep race cars prepped at the shop. Even changing the fluid every other event (4 or so times a year) it doesn't cost as much as a used trans. MTL is $15/qt, so that's $120/yr for the race cars which are getting far more changes than a street car.
