    E36 Diff into a M10 E30

Hi guys, struggling to find information about this:

have a e30 with an m10 attached to a 240 getrag, will a diff from a e36 318 be possible to put into the car, and if not, are the internals able to be exchanged with minimal modification?

reason due to fortunatley finding really cheap rebuilt e36 diff

    thanks

a 318ti diff will work, but the flanges might be different. The 168MM internals will swap over from other 318i cars though. The 318i uses a different housing as opposed to the 318ti.

The pumpkin and pinion will swap over but you do need to re-shim it to get a correct contact patch between the ring and pinion.

I've found that if you keep the shims with the gearset, you're about 80% likely
to have the thing have a decent contact pattern.

The variable seems to be in the gear grinding more than the case dimension.
