1-series six speed gearbox on m50 m52 m54??

I'm looking into a 6-speed swap. I know the >2004 330i ZF boxes fit, but it's much easier finding 1-series six speeds over here. I reckon the bolt pattern will match, but I'm not sure about the angle (30 deg or not). I haven't found a build so far that has used this box.
Has anyone any info on the possibilities?

it will bolt up, and the angle is the same. you will need to use the flywheel that matches the transmission - the input shaft is shorter and the pilot bearing installs into the flywheel instead of the crankshaft.

Good solid info, thanks. Do you know if it has been done and blogged before? I spend an hour googling but didn't find any concrete links.
