    Flywheel

    Can someone explain to me why I cannot use a 1987 325e flywheel on a 325i transmission?

    I'm not sure you can't, but I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to.. IIRC the 325e flywheels are dual mass meaning it is a slightly smoother ride but much slower and less responsive.

      You can use whatever you like. But you have to match the gearbox and throwout bearing to suit your flysheel of choice.

        Earlier ETA flywheels are single mass. Later, dual mass
