    89’ 325i Motor compatible w/ 87’ 325e?

Hello everyone! I just got my first E30 so I’m new to the Euro world. My question is (aside from the ECU and Wiring Harness) will an 89’ 325i motor essentially be a direct fit into my 87 325e and mount to the stock 260/5 Getrag? Eventually I’m going to tear my old Eta motor and build a “stroker” but the 325i motor was running well and taken off a donor car. It’ll also give me the excuse to upgrade to the 1.3 motronic. I’ve tried doing some extensive research. Sorry if there’s a thread I missed about this. Thank you for your time!

    Pretty much.
Pay attention to your eta total flywheel + clutch thickness...

Depending on the month of your chassis, you might have to move a pin or 3
in c101- the only danger, and it's low with an 89 donor, is pin 20.
Make sure it's not connecting fat red to fat green. That gets stinky.

was invaluable when I put a 91 engine into an 87.

    hth, and welcome.
