    LSD Differential internals!!

Hello there! I have some questione here, I hope someone has answer for me

So the thing is since i Turboed my car i want to get longer diff ratio!

Right now i have an LSD 3.91 (if i remember right) i have 2.79 i understand that it ring and pinion will not fit to my 3.91, so one thin is in my mind, i will not buy one more LSD diff but i culd buy only High offset LSD carrier the questione is will the Standart offset carrier internals (Discs clutches etc) will fit in High offset carrier withouth problems??

I believe that parts for differentials with the ratio < 3.15 do not fit into differentials with the ratio >= 3.15.

Hmm interesting i actualy dont see why they dont fit!!?? cuz the carriers are the same size only difference is the rings attach in different hights!!

I don't know it for a fact but I don't see why everything wouldn't fit the same inside the carrier. There's no difference for upgrading or replacing clutches between the two carriers so I feel like they would be interchangeable.

The LSD unit itself is interchangeable between 188mm differentials. I'm not 100% sure, though.

          I mean this thing.

You should be able to remove it from one differential and move to the other.

Then, you can install a different ring & pinion with the ratio >= 3.15 into any differential with the ratio >= 3.15.
A different ring & pinion with the ratio < 3.15 can be installed into any differential with the ratio < 3.15.
Of course, when they are 188mm.

But it's better to sell your existing differentials and buy a differential with the ratio you want. It's very difficult to adjust a differential without experience.

          What ratio do you want?
You can also use Z3 differentials, though, they are Torsens.

Yeah i know that 188 units are interchangeable, i was actualy meaning the parts in unit itself Discs Clutches Spider gears etc To move from Standart carrier to High offset carrier and vice versa!

            I need a 2,79

The LSD complete unit will not fit, but the guts from a high offset will fit in a low offset (assuming the carriers are both for LSD)

The difference is just the carrier and carrier cap. I don't think you can put LSD parts in a non-LSD carrier, otherwise I spent a lot of money for nothing...

thanks allot, yes i mean between LSD carriers yes! Mine is standard so i will go for High offset and just swap internals!
