The mounts are pretty simple to fabricate yourself also, just requires some time and patience..
Yea I bet, been thinking of SC my cabrio also but luckily have been able to resist.. way too expensive and the power I've now is enough for a drop-top... :D
(and S62 engines are getting pretty cheap also these days....)
Too many options, maybe I should just start a new project :DLeave a comment:

Understood, space is a determining factor for everything car related, Lol! Talk to Jean about the mounts, since he is on the West coast... if you ask nice he may be able to oblige you, lol!

Thats how I got my m60b40, bought a 540i parts car, sold a couple things from it and gave the rest of the car away to the junk yard... and have basically free m60b40 and booster hardware for the swap.
If you don't have room for the car, i've seen the 5speeds going for about $500 for the v8... the 6speeds are more.Leave a comment:

I can't really go about buying an entire car because I don't really have the space to be pulling apart a fourth vehicle. For now I'll keep searching the yards.
Is anyone going to be fabbing excess motor mounts?Leave a comment:

the prices are the made by the yard, I found the trans and then negotiated the price down a bit and even got the shifter linkage includedLeave a comment:

I just bought a whole, running E34 530i 5 speed, drove it into my shop, stripped it, kept the parts I needed and sold off the rest. Made about $1500 on top of the cost of the car, so I got the trans and other misc swap parts for nothing and made my money back on the price of the car and was $1500 to the good. Start looking for E34 530i 5 speeds for sale or being parted...

Carpart is still inflated imho. For their prices id rather wait and pay the same from a board member. Yards charge ~$100 for a manual trans, and that's basically taking the same gamble as ebay/parting sites usually...just can't find a manual one..Leave a comment:

There are various aftermarket supercharging kits. If the e36 S52 kit can be made ti fit in an e30, I'm sure one of the m60 versions can too. You may need to make a custom fiberglass intake pipe to fit in the confines of the e30 engine bay, but I don't see why it couldn't be done.Leave a comment:

maybe I just got lucky but I found one about an hour awayLeave a comment:

Where did you guys source your trans from? I'm scouring everywhere looking for a 5spd but am coming up with nill. My hopes are crushed with every yard run...Leave a comment:
