    It's April! Time for another update!

    Got my headgasketless headgasket set in today (11 12 1 736 906). Amazon.com....$150 shipped. BAM!




    Has a Worldpac sticker on it, looool.

    Also got an oil pan gasket and engine and trans mounts. Time to go hardcore on this puppy.



    How many days until the Vintage...?

        Pretty simple once you find the spot welds. I wish I had a spot weld driller, but I just drilled straight through. Going to weld plate on the body of the car and angle for the core support to reinforce the mounting points.

        Geeze. Everytime I think I have everything squared away, I think of more shit I need to do. This will really be a raw fucking car to get it done by Memorial day.

          Ha, I seriously doubt it. There's always something with the V8 swaps.
          I did 24v swaps in an evening. Either way it's going to be so sweet to start it up and hear it run let alone driving it.

            This is what's keeping me going. We had a Morgan Aero 8 in here with the N62 and it sounded amazing. That is my goal for sound.

                2000 to 2004 has the S62. 2005 to 2007 have N62B44. 2008+ have N62B48.

                One I got a ride in was a B44. It's was insane. Exhaust is bank one out of one side, bank two out of the other. Pipes never touch. Sounds insane.

                  Muchos thanks to RCM3! Hooked me up with a replacement grille and headlight assembly!




                  Got to resealing the top end last night but forgot to nab some valve cover seal rings for the bolts. Basically, if all goes well this week, engine will be in the car this weekend. BAM. Progress.

                  For the body, still need a fender and sunroof panel assembly.

                        So, over the past THREE DAYS I've resealed the valve covers and upper timing chain covers. Ugh. I just have no time, literally.

                        This weekend is all mine though. So stoked.

                          Ugh. So I got the shit to make my harness adapter. YAY.

                          But, they ran out of the female terminals so they sent 16 of the 20. FML FML FML.

                          There goes my hopes of even getting it possibly running this weekend.

                              Little update. As you can see I got the engine and trans in for the first time.

                              After resealing the top, I dropped the oil pan to find that all of the oil sump bolts were finger tight. Broke out my Locktite and got them all tight again. Sealed up the pan, after cleaning it all out. Not a drop of sludge, I was happy.

                              Then I reinstalled the subframe with spacers, after removing the rag joint. Noticed that one of the wheels on my engine hoist was coming off. So figured, fuck, I need a place to set this engine. There ya have it. Dicked around for about half an hour before I realized I had the motor mounts in opposite sides of the subframe. After that slid in like buttah.

                              Got the wrong plug housing again, since RealOEM doesn't list a 25 pin housing (61 13 1 387 108 ) for a 540...or any v8 car for that matter. Should be here tomorrow and I can wire this thing up.

                              Surprised at how low the engine sits in there. I was afraid it would greatly interfere with the blower housing, but nope.

                              My motivation to get this thing finished has greatly ramped up. Feels like when you go on a date with a girl and can't wait to see her again.

                                what are you going to do for the exhaust?

                                oh and just a little warning. If you get it runnning and choose not to have a manifold on while you do, take a heat sheild and place it over the steering shaft and fuel lines. Fires are scary.
