Exhaust I have the X5 manis. I cut them too long so they were hitting the firewall so I took them off for now. Going to trim them down and install once I get all the ancillary parts around the engine positioned/measured, etc. Probably going to run them into dual pipe all the way back. I've got a nice little Flowmaster that I had on my e30 that was obnoxiously loud with the M20. Car is an '89, so next year she'll get AQ plates, so the exhaust isn't going to be permanent.
Considering deleting the PS for now, just for simplicity. We'll see. Going to try manual brakes and see how I like it. Drove my Rover for a couple of weeks w/out power assist and the e30 can't be that bad.
I need to fab up my trans cross member and get the fuel tank in before firing it up. Also getting a new waterpump as IDK if this one was damaged in the collision the car I got the motor was in. It had been replaced, but I don't want to chance it.
This is exactly what I needed though. I can't wait to get this thing going.
Still need to mod the pedal bracket, and get the core support reinforced/made up with the tabs for removal. Taking it off was the best thing I did. I can't imaging trying to put the engine/trans in over the support.
I think I'm going to run all the wiring to the core (headlights, foglights, signals, etc, etc) through a 20 or 25 pin connector so I can disconnect them quickly and rip the front off easily.
