This is the video......JUSTIN! I didn't know how to embed it.

Webshots, the best in Desktop Wallpaper, Desktop Backgrounds, and Screen Savers since 1995.

I did this a few times and it idled longer each time. Then I started it with semi-open throttle and it revved like a monster. He said there were flames coming out of the exhaust, so I figured I'd stop and take it as fact that it works.

    Some updates

So after having started it up, I decided to unwrap some of the gifts that came in today as well as take care of some other odds/ends.

I relocated the sensor wires for both the brake fluid level and the coolant level.

I also wired up the starter 30h wire into the X20 connector directly to the E30. On the E34, it was NOT wired through the X20, rather straight to the body electronics via some other connector.

Next for wiring is the carbon canister, which on the E30 was inclusive of the M20 wiring harness, but on the E34, it went again straight to the body electronics. no big deal.

On to the pictures. Some rust repair completed under the driver dead pedal. Got myself some seam sealer and did work.

Rob at UUC (he owns it) was really accommodating and provided me exactly what I needed. SSK USSE5, DSSR112, and an E92 transmission selector joint because the width matches the DSSR112.

SS Brake lines kit (6). This will complement the 300mm.de big brake kit. :D

Couple snaps of the E39 M5/Z8 Flywheel. This kit comes with the clutch (hub springs), pressure plate, throwout bearing, and alignment tool. They came from california, so they're not set to arrive until Monday.

I would love to provide more updates, but I won't be around this weekend, so until Monday night, I'm out.

    Thanks guys,

We had to troubleshoot a few things like crossed fuel lines and ECU, but it worked!

So I had the EWSII 484 ECU with it's mapping chip and purchased a 404 NON EWSII ECU (from a 92 740i) from ebay. I thought it was a good idea to swap the chips so that it would be seamless to the engine, but apparently that didn't work.

I spent 2 hours with a friend tonight troubleshooting it and after we derisked everything, we decided to re-swap the chips back to their respective ECU's.

Well wouldn't you have it, it fired right up!!

It didn't idle. It died after a second or two, mainly because I didn't have the headers installed, but i've got it.

Moving on...... More pictures to post tonight of some more goodies I got
Awesome! So who's not going to make it to G'fest? Your shit is running and mine's a bare shell.... FU! Just kidding... That's just plain awesome Frank! Kudos to you... lots of M6x swapped E30's this year!

I don't have any clearance issues with the acc linkage the way I designed it. If you're referring to the steering column, no issues. I'm going to have slack in the e34 linkage due to the location, but I don't think it will preclude proper installation and cable binding.

Good deal! I cut mine up this morning and dropped it off at a local shop to have it welded.

    Get that thing fired up!

How's the clearance on the throttle linkage? I had planned on doing the same thing with mine, just wanted to make sure the new positioning of the part that the cable attaches to clears everything through it's motion. You basically did exactly what I had planned out in my head, glad to see it works, and nice job!

Exhaust looks nice too! You doing your own manifold-back exhaust? I'm getting ready to order a 2.5" mandrel exhaust builders kit off ebay.

I can't get enough of it. it is my main tool for everything that I need to hold. As you can probably see, I'm not easy on my tools....and this one has lasted years so far.

    Looks pretty nice. Good progress.

How do you like that Jawhorse? I used one at OSH one time and it was, and still is, a must have...but I didn't pick it up :( Hopefully soon!

    Update 3/6/12

    Exhaust:

I bought 2.25" V-Clamps with Mild Steel Flanges. It will make removal/installation so much easier.

I finished welding the headers, too. They'll be wrapped eventually. I ensured there were no leaks by sticking my LED flashlight inside the pipes and looking for light leaks. It worked really well.

Accelerator Pedal and Steering Shaft came in. The Steering shaft mates with the 95 M3 Rack and is approximately 2 3/8" long. The accelerator pedal was modified significantly.

Some installation photos. I had to relocate the other acc mount. Yes, it's sturdy. This is not complete yet as I haven't modified the firewall for the cable.

    404 ECU ready to go!

I know that this question is embedded within a sea of photos, so hopefully someone will see it. What is that wire with the red heat shrink near the loophole with the label on it? I couldn't get continuity to neither ground nor + power.

I got some updated brake booster photos. I got the booster in place. I still need to grind/weld a second pass.

Figured out the brake lines - The Master Cylinder from the E34 has 2 outlets that are different sizes. 1/4" line and the normal 3/16". I had to buy some shit to get down to 3/16" by the time it gets to the ABS module.

Got the driveshaft back from Driveline service of atlanta. Fits PERFECTLY.

Worked on the AC a little bit. Turns out that the AC lines are steel, so they can easily be welded and grinded to make a nice smooth transition from the E30 lines to the E34 compressor.

I need to cut away at the frame rail to get the compressor to fit without much more modification.

Cruise control is ready to go. Mounted it (although I need to beef up my method of retaining that motor). The Cable needed to be modified by way of disassembling some of the original E34 cable.

Finished wiring up C101. I haven't started the engine yet, so I'm leaving the wires exposed until I can verify that everything works in case I crossed a wire.

Here's where I'm at. My Vert is patiently waiting in the background.......Trust me, the paint is beautiful under that dust.

Plan for tomorrow - Figure out the power steering lines. This won't be an easy task as I tried to fit the existing E30 ones and realize that I might need custom lines. I can always heat and bend them to shape, which I've done before.

Awesome thread. I was given a fresh M50 that I was gonna swap into my sedan this spring, but this thread has my mind racing. I did a B40/6 swap into my E34 touring last winter, and although that was child's play compared to this, I can't stop thinking about what it would be like to have that motor in an E30. Thanks for taking the time to document your journey, and good luck!

Why do you do a separate rod for steering?

The water hoses would fit through the firewall-rubber, but require of course bit of a squeezing.
