Everything from the c101 and back check out.
My problem is that with the c101 unplugged and the the key on the temp jumps to super hot.
And you don't have continuity from c101 pin 4 to chassis ground? If not, yeah, sounds like you fried something in the temp gauge, or maybe even the SI board, since that's where power to the gauge comes from.
So I think my little temp sensor test messed up more than just my temp gauge/is board.
After installing my newly built exhaust i started the car to hear it roar! And noticed it was hard to start and had a rough idle. Then i noticed that it has a bad bog when giving it throttle.
I'mthinking when i was screwing around with the two temp sensors (ecu & temp gauge) that not only did I touch the temp gauge plug with a hot wire but i also attached at one point the hot to the ecu temp plug. Seeing how it f-ed up my temp gauge. I'm thinking it also hurt my 404 dme.
Damn it.. :-(
I have read this thread completely 3 times!! Just giving myself more incentive to get mine done!!! There is a lot of good info within these pages and I will be referring to this again and again! Got more done on mine this weekend with reinstalling the dash wiring and figuring out some more of the brakes! Wish I had just a small bit of your fab abilities! Would make this that much easier! Really like the exhaust as I want to have that "sleeper" look when I am finished. Awesome job!!! Really excited to see how the SC is going to change things!!!
Some people just need a sympathetic pat... on the head... WITH A HAMMER!!!
So took the car for a test run yesterday and noticed a "check engine"
Light. Ugh
Did a stomp test and found that the repeating (temp sensor)code is 1223 pause 1223 and just keeps going never stopping..
So i tried clearing it many ways with no result. Ugh...
So now i know my dme is hurt.
Not too worried, i have another one. Just have to pick it up.
So upon driving the car with the new exhaust. Its still loud at WOT sexy at idle and has the sic euro v8 sound when blipping and revving the rpms
All in all its still loud. But no louder than an uncorked mustang. Which seems to be the norm in this area.
I can tell you that I am not worried about attracking the poo poo while rollin my hood G.....
