Is keeping the driveline aligned only to prolong the life of the guibo and CSB? Or is there anything else that it affects?
Not sure how out of alignment an M60 is for comparison, but my m20 is shimmed up from (shitty)aftermarket motor mounts by about 15mm and the original guibo/csb is still there 2 years later.

Usually it's best not to know how much money you have into your e30
Engine itself is a bit tilted anyway, I can swear 101% that my lines are more then perfect. Gearbox--Driveshaft--Diff are perfectly lined, fabricating and using spacers was my first idea but when I begun putting the engine in for my complete surprise all was alligned perfectly. There is no stress anywhere on the linkages, even without bolts just 1 for mockup all is perfect. I am not a drifter, but a spirited driver and for me the car to handle sharp corners at 100+ speeds is a must. Also we have more then maybe 15 cars running on the tracks here, have spoken to nearly all of them and the answer was always same - Spacers? What the f*ck.
ps. And my 5 lug swap (complete setup from M3 Evo) main idea was to make perfect the front stance nothing more (driving a well looked after bone stock 3.2 makes you feel really silly owning an E30, the handling is just astonishing. And not talking about pimped up rides where that feeling increase exponentially), rest was a bonus for me :)
